For Week 11 Reading my group Tuhi Mai have been learning about winter gardens. we've been learning a lot by watching advertisements, articles, and writing our own planing sheet, to plan out own winter garden at school. We're planning on planting carrots, cabbage, spring onions and so on.

A winter garden is a garden that grows vegetables/fruit during winter. There are advertisements (like by mitre 10) and tutorials provided to make a winter garden. A winter garden can grow various vegetables and fruit. Such as; carrots, cabbage, broccoli, apples, strawberries, cherries & many more. To make a winter garden, you need the right mindset of planting the seeds correctly and to always remember to water your garden daily.
Before You Get Started .
Making a winter garden is pretty easy but you have to be ready for the challenges of looking after your seedling when you plant it. If you are struggling with looking after your winter garden, you can find several sites that can guide you if you have questions, concerns about your winter garden. If you are willing to make a winter garden during winter make sure you know what seeds you are planting, because some seeds can’t be planted during winter. If you know what you're doing & you have the right tools, seeds, soil and so on, you can make a winter garden with no hesitation.
What It Means To Have A Winter Garden
When you have a wintergarden, you have many responsibilities. Some of the many responsibilities you need to keep in mind like, if you're planting carrots and by chance the soil has lumps then it's a sign your carrots won't grow nice and straight. Other than that there are many other problems you should be concerned about such as getting tui
quash slug & snail control because slugs and snails think vegetable seedlings are delish. Other than that you can search for more cautions/do’s & don'ts and so on online.

Black Lives Matter
New Zealand police have decided to not shut down all BLM protests. New Zealanders people still are marching through the city protesting justice for George Floyd and every person affected for something they didn't do just because of the color of their skin.
However, new national leader Todd Muller is disappointed as he thinks that the NZ government has sent wrong messages and that many people are breaking a lot of rules. Organizers of the protests say they tried their hardest to provide hand sanitizer for protesters.
I think protesting is good as it may bring justice to all those people who have passed but can risk someone getting the virus as people don't know each other. Stay safe and if you are deciding to protest take face masks and every thing else that will protect you!
