Why Online Learning Should Be Compulsory

 

Introduction:

Do you have bad grades, and never do online work? Kinda sounds like me- 

Well Kia Ora I’m Uinita and I'm writing an argument on why I’m for online learning should be compulsory.  

Body: Persuade Or Sumfing !!

Before you zone out or get bored already by the topic of my writing, have you ever thought about how much time you're wasting on anything other than doing work? 

I am for online learning. It should be compulsory because kids these days go home and either sleep, play video games, go on social media other than doing work at home. Which is why work should be available 24/7 to keep us occupied from doing things other than learning which will most likely take you nowhere in life and to be honest learning is fun if you really put your mind to it. Another reason why I’m for having online learning to be compulsory is because some people don’t even get the chance to educate themselves especially back in the days, and knowing that you have the opportunity to learn you should make the most of it. 

MESSAGE

On the other hand learning should be compulsory because there are many benefits from learning from home. Such as; your time is flexible, meaning you could do other stuff you need to do and still have time to do some online work. To support my text if you search on google ‘’ online learning should be compulsory’’ there will be some websites which would tell you some benefits on online learning and the more good reasons why it should be compulsory.

Reciting My Argument Writing !

Today Room 7 recited our arguments on our different topics. My groups topic was '' Should Online Learning Be Compulsory ''.  Before it happened I was really nervous knowing that i didn't really know how to write an argument. When my name was randomly picked on the random name picker thingy website, at first when i found out we were going to get picked to say it in front of my class I was pretty nervous & also I just wanted to get it over with. When my name was finally picked I felt a bit confident but when I was saying my writing my voice was a bit shaky which was really annoying. Even though I didn't say much when I was presenting my writing I felt proud that I didn't nervously pause & that I at least had something to say. 

Overall my experience of saying my writing in front of my class was nerve racking but okay !

Meeting Andrew Fiu !!

Today my class and I met Andrew Fiu. 

So basically Mrs Tofa said we were gonna have a guest coming to our class. Most of us had a feeling it was gonna be Andrew because for the past months we've been reading his book called Purple Heart, and heard that our teacher was gonna try and contact him to come so we could meet him in person. 

After taking our class photo's, we came into class and then... (DRUM ROLLL....)  Andrew Fiu walked in ! :0 (the look on some of their faces BAHAHAH) Personally meeting him was great and fulfilling. During his time in our class he told stories about his bumps along the way to get to where he is now and to be able to publish his book even though a lot of people hanged up on him he didn't give up. In person he's really funny just like the amusing stories he mentioned in his book. I learnt a lot of new stuff about him and i also found him very interesting. Judging by how old he looked when he wrote the book we met him as an old man but he remembered a lot throughout his journey.

Overall i definitely recommend you to read his book !

Narritive: The Story Of BoB And The Rock (CLIFFHANGER !)

    Once upon a time there was a blob named BoB. He was the best Blob in the whole wide blunaverse. He worked for hours and hours at 4 jobs as a plumber, a blob sitter, a mechanic and a paknsave accountant to earn enough money to get a rock. You may be thinking ‘’WHAT A ROCK’’ but trust me it's not just any rock it's a rock from Earth !

( READERS: WowWww ) 

To the blobsters citizens earth rocks are very unique because blobers live in the depths of the ocean.  As soon as Bob had enough money Bobson the criminal stole the money which was $1.50, Bob had worked too hard for the $1.50 so he went to court and pledged to his bather for a bigger allowance. His Blather said no so BoB was disappointed but had no thought in the tiny brain of his to give up Until…

An ant with a sniper water gun shot BoB. BoB collapsed and with fear in his eyes he spoke to his Client he asked please go on  without me …

Why do you think Nina’s parents did not want her to have a phone? Because they thought/knew she only wanted a phone because she wanted to impress her friends, because her parents said there's a difference between wanting something and needing something. What were the motivations for Nina to buy a phone? She was so motivated to get a phone, because she was tired of people bragging about how many likes they got from their posts on their phones which made her want a phone. What did Nina do to earn  money to buy her phone? Vacuuming gran’s house and cleaning her windows for four months.   How old do you think Nina is? 13-14 yrs old. Why do you think this text was written? So kids don’t get too attached to phones.  Who is the text written for? What ages and why? I think this text was written for all kids who want phones not for a good purpose, but to impress other people. I also think this text is for all ages because most kids these days just want a phone. Would a college student learn a lesson from this text? What would the lesson be? Maybe, I think it's maybe because yes they can learn something from this text and maybe not because they could just read this and not take anything to use. Is Nina cybersmart? What supports your answer? No, because she barely knows anything about a phone because when she just got the phone and because she finds every surprising thing very amusing to her. Were Nina’s parents responsible parents? Why? Not really because they shouldn't've given her a phone unless she had a good reason on why she wants/needs a phone.

Tips Of Staying Safe PB4L

 Today my class & I compared New Zealand's Covid 19 cases to The United States Of America and Australia. Our country is very lucky to have less cases then those countries by a long shot. Also if we want it to stay that way we need to keep our hands to ourselves, wear a mask when in public, sanitize when you can, don't share food you've already touched, even if you don't have corona just be cautious of other people and don't take RISKS !

Article Response - Banned Phones

 I support the move of rules against phones, headphones etc. I support this move because as a student I understand that phones are very tempting to use when we bring phones to school or if we have a phone in our presence we are tempted to use it even if it's in the middle of class. Which is a good choice to ban those devices, to get less of a distraction when learning.  I also agree with that move because without a phone you can be able to physically socialize with other people more which you may need to be good at for a certain job you’d want in the future which would include talking to people a lot.  I also think most other high schools should participate in this move because it's not just that school with the addictive phone problem, it's also other schools
