What does DNA stand for?

DNA is short for deoxyribonucleic acid.


What is a Codon?

a sequence of three nucleotides which together form a unit of genetic code in a DNA or RNA molecule.


What is the specific shape of a DNA called?

The shape is called a double helix.


Complete this sentence - Even though there are only four different letters, DNA molecules are thousands of letters long.

Are our DNA molecules long? What evidence from the text can you provide to support your answer?

DNA molecules are long — so long, in fact, that they can't fit into cells without the right packaging. 


What are genes?

A gene is characteristics you get from your parents and etc. such as eye colour, personality, interests etc,. 


What is the relationship between cells and DNA?

The genes are read by the cell's nuclear machinery and produce specific proteins. Each gene codes for a specific protein.
