This is a poster I made for 5 different different languages. Maori, Japanese, Hindi, French & Indonesia. Here are 5 different ways to say ''Happy New Years'' in different cultures !

  1. Kia ora Uinita,

My name is Shannon and I’m from the Summer Learning Journey.

Wow, I’m blown away by your outstanding blog post! It looks so good, and I love your bold colour choices which tie together in a theme of blue and purple! It looks so pretty, and is so informative!

How did you choose all the languages you chose? Have you tried screencasting yourself saying Happy New year in each language?

For New Years, my family normally has a big bonfire at the beach where we set off some fireworks and roast marshmallows! What does your family do?

    Keep up the incredible work!

    Ka kite anō,
    Shannon (SLJ)

    1. Oh, thanks Shannon for those compliments about my post!

I just chose the languages most people are familiar with. I might try screencastifying and I'll see how it goes. Bonfire at the beach, fireworks and marshmallows, sounds like fun! My family and I just have a family reunion with our close aunties and uncles, cousins etc. and pray as a family that the new year goes well, along with alott of food for everyone !

      Thanks, Nita.

    2. Hi Nita,

You chose some wonderfully inclusive languages! Your new years sounds like lots of fun! Do you have many cousins? What sorts of food do you eat?

      Bye for now,
      Shannon (SLJ)
